Origins 2006 Game Show Pictures

We're proud to announce that our game show event was listed on both Tom Vasel's and Rick Thornquist's top 10 favorite things they did at Origins! You can hear each of their lists on Tom Vasel's pod cast.

Thursday CABS Event

While there were only 18 contestants for the kick-off event, the news spread quickly and over 50 contestant came for the last two game shows (In fact, we had to turn away 7 people for the final event). Many thanks to the infamously cuddly Canadian game reporter known as Rick Thornquist for providing the CABS pictures...


Chris Brooks, Kevin Nunn, and Rick Thornquist were "The Green Machine" (front left table).
The "International Weasels", the "Flying Pigs", the "Gallant Goats",
and "Les ROBA-Fetts" are the other teams (from left to right).


Tom Vasel & Mister Cranky were on team "International Weasels"
with Bob Orhouse and Terry (the werewolf).

Team "Les ROBA-Fetts" changed their name to "Les 42" when they stumbled upon the nearly foolproof strategy of answering all of their questions with some form of the number "42". BRILLIANT! Congratulations on a decisive victory for the opening Origins 2006 Wits & Wagers Game Show Event. (Note: Derek Jung from team Les ROBA-Fetts emailed to say that our event also made his top 10 list!)


"Gallant Goats"


Team "Gallant Goats" did better when they returned to a later event as "Revenge of the Gallant Goats".

Friday's $100 Event

There were 25 attendees at this event.


Saturday Afternoon's $100 Event

There were only 15 attendees at this event due to the timing of other events.

2nd Place: "The (Lucky) Burninators"


3rd Place: Team "That Team"


Saturday Night's $100 Event

There were 45 attendees at this event.




1st Place: "B & M" (which stands for the Bitchers & Moaners)


2nd Place: Team "Horribly Losing"


3rd Place: "Team Black" (they were the purple team) ???


Sunday's $100 Event

There were 49 attendees at this event and we had to turn away 7 people. There was definitely good buzz that grew around these events throughout the convention.


1st Place: Team "El Chupacabra"


2nd Place: Team "The Brilliant, Stupendous, Amazing, Fantastic,
Intelligent, Long-Winded, Mediocre Ones"

We are seeking feedback on how to improve our event and how to improve our t-shirt. Here is an idea sent from an Origins contestant. Do you like this idea better or the one we had at Origins (see above)?
