Kory Heath

Kory Heath moved to Maryland in 1999 and proceeded to design dozens of games with his fellow play-testers and designers. Naturally, most of them were terrible, because that's how the process goes. Kory and his group started by designing Icehouse games, and create enough very good ones to publish "Playing with Pyramids" including 12 games that can be played with Icehouse pyramids. Perhaps the best of these was Zendo, which was then published as it's own game with a complete set of Zendo stones and expanded rule booklet. Zendo is a thoughtful and intellectual game that can make your brain hurt. It won "best abstract board game" at Origins 2004. His next published game was "Why Did the Chicken...?" which is a party game that does not make your brain hurt. It's a game about writing jokes and making everyone else laugh. His other designs are all elegant and strategic, and look nothing like Zendo or "Why Did the Chicken...?" or each other.
