How to Play

The Wits & Wagers Game Show format is designed so that new players can jump in very quickly. In fact, all you will need to do is listen to your host and follow his direction. He will tell you when to write an answer on your dry erase card, he will tell you how much time you have, and he will collect your answers when you are ready. Yes, it is that easy!

  1. The host asks a question.
No one will know the exact answer to this question. For instance, how many feet long is the longest whale ever recorded?"

  2. Each team makes an estimate on what the correct answer is.
You will have 1 minute to figure out a good estimate with your teammates. Then you will write this estimate on a dry erase board. The host will collect these answers.

  3. The host will write each team's answer on a 6 foot dry erase board.
The answers will be ordered from the smallest number to the largest number. The middle answer will always pay 1:1. The more outrageous the answer, the higher the payout will be for that answer. The smallest answer and the largest answer will pay out 4:1 (see graphic below).

  4. Now each team decides which answer(s) to bet upon.
You can bet on your own answer if you are confident in your knowledge, or you can bet on another team's answer (if they seem real smart). Teams may also decide to split their bet between two answers.

  5. One of the given answers will pay out.
It will be the closest given answer that does not go over the correct answer (Price Is Right rules). The host pays every team that bet on that answer according to the odds for that answer. All of the other bets will be collected by the host.

  6. The team with the most chips after 7 questions wins!

This 6 foot dry erase board is used to post each team's answer. Allowing teams to bet on any of the given answers helps keep the event fun and interactive.
